Im running my dogs , I like public lands where they don't allow running deer dogs. The guys will be still hunting i try to give them plenty room but most are glad to have deer stirred up for them during lulls in day. I dont turn out near anyone in morning or evening mostly stay clear but some will hunt on outskirts of me in big woods. I jump plenty deer so young ones learn patience and love breaking and starting my own dogs. Im kind of partial on that till I'm to old then leave it for next bunch. I hunt and run dogs and shot if they can run him or wait till next time when they can. I don't eat many rabbits give them to friends or clean and give to dogs sometimes cooked. My dogs catch a couple every year with out gun being shot so I worm year round and dogs sure appreciate and look for them rabbits. Ive got to get back to work but dogs been hot and cold till evenings right before dark then they been making me sweat and wonder till they turns back and bring the grey ghost by me.

Sounds like you having your self a Ball Rabbit hunting these days! Where are you located?  Back when I was a lots younger, I love to run and Gun myself and still do a little in Feb,  have to take my old RTV 900 Kubota to hunt off these days. Going down the hill fast, this may be my last year, been a wonderful Experience, with my hounds.  keep them running.

SURE DO LOVE GETTING THEM BEAGLES OUT AND GIVE CHASE TO MR BUNNY. Yeah i said Mr cause they generally smell better and give longer chases before they go to hole. Later in season no jump shots no females in my neck Woods which is Virginia. I check my rabbits after shot gut hang guts in tree give heart kidneys and nuts to dogs and put in plastic bag in hunting coat. After January i rarely kill female and i dont pratice jump shots. I do keep kids and older hunters on creek bottoms, roads, fields and other escape routes and give them free range of shotting as long as its safe. Kinda like a stand while rabbit hunting. Love seeing old and young get shots and have fun. One day a man in his 80 shot a rabbit and ended up dead under my truck. I ran over got rabbit before dogs got to it first. He thought i was mad and he had shot truck
Which was not case he made great shot and momentum carried bunny under truck. I was overjoyed and happy for i knew my older buddy had cancer treatments and was last rabbit for Mr Jessup. He hadn't made shot i years and to make a running tough one your last. We talked him up good but over summer found out he had passed. Was glad to be part of such special moment in his and my life. Wonderful lessons this sport of hunting can teach you when you slow down stop wearing about numbers and size and experience the small stuff.

Deer seasons over here today in the deep south of Georgia!   Time to hit all those private property honey holes that have been off limits because of deer season!
